Posting Blogs in Drupal

- Blog posts will be created in the same way as the other Content types but we must first enable the
Blog Modulein our Drupal site. To enable the Blog module, clickAdminister -> Site building -> Modules. - Now, just like how we add the About Me page, click
Create content -> Blog entry. - Type anything at the
Bodyof your blog - Make sure that
Comment settingsis set toRead/Writeand thePublishedandPromote to front pageare checked in thePublishing optionsbefore clicking theSavebutton. - After you have saved your first blog post, click the My Drupal Site logo then you will see your recent blog and your About Me page at the front page of your site.
- To create a menu link that will display only all of our blog posts, go to
Administer -> Site building -> Menus -> Primary links. - Click
Add itemthen setPathto blog, Menu link title to My Online Journal and type something to describe this menu link atDescription. Make sure that this isEnabled,Parent itemset to<Primary links>andWeightequal to 0 then clickSave. Note that theWeightvalue defines the position of your menu item, for horizontal menus, higher Weight values will be moved to the right and for vertical menus, they will be pushed down to the bottom of the menu lists. - Now click the
My Online Journallink to see all your blog posts and try adding new blog articles.
The Blog module is part of the Core – optional modules of Drupal but it is by default, disabled. You must first check Blog then click the Save configuration button to enable it in your site.
Set the Title to Hello Blogging!. For the Menu Settings, you can fill it up if you want to have a menu link to this blog post. But for this exercise, let us create a single menu link for all our blog posts.
