This coming Sunday, May 30, 2010, is the First Call Center Run (Run 4 Q) organized by Qualfon along with Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE) in order to promote a healthy lifestyle for the growing number of call center agents in Cebu City. But, the event is also open to those who wish to join the crusade for a healthy lifestyle thru running for a registration fee of P200. Registration centers include Qualfon’s office at the 9th floor of Skyrise 3 at Lahug IT Park, Citigym at Cebu Waterfront Hotel, Runnr at Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu Daily News and Philippine Sports Commission-7 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

And I'm joining the 5km race!

This will be my second attempt to join an activity like this. My first was when I registered for 5km in the First Sinulug Run last year. My first attempt was very frustrating. It was only my spirit that's willing but my body is weak. I hope this time my performance will improve even for just a little bit. I have lost 4lbs since last month, after I committed to jog and walk at least once a week. My ultimate goal is to keep on joining mini-marathon events to keep me motivated to periodically practice running in order lose more weights and eventually stay healthy.

Life is a Race

Yes, life is a race.

And God wants us to join in that race.

1 Corinthians 9:24 - "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."

This applies to all things that we want to accomplish in life. God tells us through the words of Paul in his letter to the Corinthians that if we want to become successful in our life then first, we need to join the race in becoming a successful Christian person. Thats the first thing that we must do, we need to join the race.

Now that we commit ourselves in joining the race, we then need to practice for the race.

Like me, when I first joined the First Sinulug Run for 5 kilometers, I did no preparations at all... and I ended up disappointed because I made it a Sinulug Walk not a Sinulug Run. Practice is necessary before joining any race.

So you want to become successful in your job? Do it diligently and with passion each day. Don't be afraid to commit mistakes(take note its plural). Accept your mistakes and learn from them. Practice makes perfect only when you make corrections from your mistakes. And always remember that God is always in our side to pick you up each time you fall.
