Creating the About Me Page in Drupal

  1. To add a new content to your Drupal site, click the Create content -> Story.

Notice that when you clicked the Create content menu, there were two content types available: Page and Story.

Page and Story are almost the same in form but by default, a page entry does not allow visitor comments and is not featured at your site’s initial home page. We want to promote our About Me page to the front page so let’s just choose the Story content type.

  3. Set the Title to About Me.
  4. The Menu settings field is optional, and is only used if you want to add the item to the menu system of Drupal. We will add the About Me page to the <Primary links>. To do this, click Menu settings to display some additional fields.
  5. Set the Menu link title to About Me, Parent item to <Primary links> and Weight equal to 0. Type something about yourself in the Body.

If you want to add extra HTML formatting to your story, you can expand Input Format and set it to Full HTML.

  6. Make sure that Comment settings is set to Read/Write and the Published and Promote to front page are checked in the Publishing options before clicking the Save button.
